Chicago Visit Tips: Why I Love Twitter

I am heading to Chicago next week to meet with a new marketing client, Las Palmas, and I asked my twitter followers for some tips since I have never been to Chicago.

Here are some of them:

“@spirocks dress warm-it’s very windy, go to Gino’s east deep dish pizza, and try the caramel cheese popcorn!”

I also Asked my esteemed friend, and international relations guru, Robert Nolan for advice:

Hey Spiro,

Excellent news, you’ll love Chicago if you’ve never been.  There are two things you shouldn’t miss.  The first is a jazz set at the Green Mill on the North Side.  It’s a very old school place that used to be a real speakeasy and has a great vibe for cocktails and music.  Try to get there on the early side though it gets packed pretty quick.  The other is an architectural tour of the city by boat.  It will be cold.  It will be worth it.
Other spots that are good for late night include Smartbar, where there is always a good house dj on hand.
If you want some more nightlife options since those things change I’ve got a wonderful friend, one of the best, in Chicago who I can put you in touch with.  He showed me what that good city is all about and he knows it inside out.  Just let me know and I can connect you guys.

My Personal Favorite:

Best Beer Bar in Chicago:  The Public House features 103 beers, a great layout for catching a game, and amazing bar food. I had some kobe brisket sliders that were delicious and worked my way through the IPAs they had on tap. Check them out: HERE
